Gainesville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Lanier Longhorns with a sharp 66-43 victory. Given the Red Elephants' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Longhorns are ranked 69th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gainesville's record is now 9-0. As for Lanier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Gainesville and Pinson Valley will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Lanier, they will venture away from home to take on West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
