Basketball Recap: Ooltewah Find Success

Ooltewah posted their closest win since January 11, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Meigs County Tigers 40-37. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Tigers back in January, they had to take a 60-37 loss.

Despite the defeat, Meigs County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gavin Malone went 8-for-18 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Powell, who posted eight points.

Ooltewah's win bumped their record up to 5-20. As for Meigs County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

As of now, neither Ooltewah nor Meigs County have any future games scheduled.
