Softball Game Preview: Cleveland Storm vs. Piedra Vista Panthers

The Cleveland Storm will face off against the Piedra Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland will be strutting in after a victory while Piedra Vista will be coming in after a defeat.

Cleveland took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Farmington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Storm skirted past the Scorpions 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Storm have posted since April 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Piedra Vista faced Cibola in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

ISABELLA JESSEE was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run.

Piedra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-1. As for Cleveland, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Cleveland couldn't quite get it done against Piedra Vista in their previous matchup back in May of 2021 as they fell 7-3. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
