Basketball Recap: Green Run Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

On Tuesday, Green Run faced Landstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Green Run Stallions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over the Landstown Eagles. This was payback for the Stallions, who suffered a 53-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Landstown saw an underclassman step up: freshman Damien Robinson went 8 for 13 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Robinson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaevion Cleveland, who posted ten points.

Green Run's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Landstown, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Green Run will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bayside at 5:30 p.m. As for Landstown, they will head out to take on George Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. George Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Landstown likes a good challenge.
