Recap: Acadiana Christian Lions vs. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool
After a string of five wins, the Acadiana Christian Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The game between Acadiana Christian and Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool wasn't particularly close, with Acadiana Christian falling 56-38. Acadiana Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Acadiana Christian still got an impressive performance from Ty Olivier, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That was a full 42.1% of Acadiana Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lanclos, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Moore, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Moore hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Gabe Wild, who scored ten points along with eight assists and two steals.
Acadiana Christian dropped their record down to 13-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Acadiana Christian will be playing at home against Word of God Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they will take on CHAAMP HomeSchool at 3:10 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully CHAAMP HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
