Basketball Recap: Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Hornet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 638th in North Carolina, while the Bulldogs are ranked 315th in Mississippi).

Mississippi School for the Deaf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Learvious Hill led the charge by putting up 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Thomas, who posted 12 points.

Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mississippi School for the Deaf, with the victory, they broke their 18-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-19.
