Liberty Baptist Academy hasn't had much luck against Indian Springs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Jacob Gourley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adam Groeblinghoff, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Indian Springs' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
