Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Prep Comes Up Short

Santa Fe Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-24 loss at the hands of the Robertson Cardinals. The matchup marked the Blue Griffins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Robertson was led to victory by Nathan Gonzales and George Smith. Gonzales went 8 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five blocks, while Smith dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in assists. Brenen Deisler was another key player, putting up nine points.

Santa Fe Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Robertson, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Santa Fe Prep will face off against Jemez Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Robertson, they will square off against West Las Vegas at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Robertson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.1 points per game this season.
