Pittston has gone a perfect 10-0 against Crestwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Patriots will challenge the Comets at 4:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Pittston after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilkes-Barre. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Samantha Herbert put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Herbert wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Gorzkowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Crestwood didn't have quite enough to beat Hazleton Area on Monday and fell 8-7.

Ella Richards made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Alekzandria Dutko, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Crestwood now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pittston, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pittston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Crestwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Pittston's way against Crestwood in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Pittston made off with a 14-1 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
