After a string of five wins, St. Mary's-Colgan's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Monday.

St. Mary's-Colgan may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20.

Bella Ascanio paced St. Mary's-Colgan's offense, picking up seven kills. Ascanio got some help from Izzy Tierney and her nine assists.

St. Mary's-Colgan's defeat dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 33-4.
