Volleyball Recap: Fairview's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fairview couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the New Bremen Cardinals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Apaches' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Aubrey Hammer paced Fairview's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hammer got some help from Kenna Kauffman and her 23 assists. Kauffman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

New Bremen was led to victory by Charlotte Nelson and Allie Bornhorst. Nelson had 26 assists and nine digs, while Bornhorst had eight digs and two aces. That's the most assists Nelson has posted since back in September.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4. As for New Bremen, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Bremen, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Tinora on the 1st.
