Softball Recap: Swain County's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Swain County can now relate to. They fell 6-3 to the South Stokes Sauras on Wednesday. The Maroon Devils' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Rylee Rawls put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Rawls wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Shuler, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Swain County's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for South Stokes, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-8.

As of now, neither Swain County nor the Sauras have any future games scheduled.
