Baseball Recap: Rising Sun Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Rising Sun, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the South Ripley Raiders on Monday as they made off with a 7-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Shiners have posted against the Raiders since May 16, 2022.

Aiden White was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Rising Sun: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-10 otherwise. White was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Landon Simpson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brayden Burris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rising Sun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.8.

Rising Sun's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for South Ripley, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8.
