Volleyball Recap: Marco Island Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus the Village School of Naples

Marco Island Academy extended their postseason success on Thursday against The Village School of Naples. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. The Rays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.

Leading Marco Island Academy to victory were Sophia Ogdin and Madison Stolinas. Ogdin had nine digs and one assist, while Stolinas hit 83.3% for five kills and 35 assists and ten digs. Stolinas has been hot for a while, having posted 22 or more assists the last 30 times she's played. Cambree Grensing also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Marco Island Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for The Village School of Naples, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marco Island Academy will face off against Southwest Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for The Village School of Naples, they will take on Donahue Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
