Basketball Recap: Raby Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jaylen Walker and Jalijah Sample

If Raby was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Chicago Collegiate last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raby Raiders took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Collins Warriors on Friday. Even if the Raiders couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jalijah Sample and Jaylen Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sample posted 18 points, while Walker had 16 points. Walker's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sharvis Pipes, who put up 11 points.

Raby's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Collins, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Raby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-67 loss against Orr on the 10th. Collins has also already played their next contest, a 70-15 win against Phoenix Military on the 10th.
