Washington won the last time they faced Berkeley Springs and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Indians. Considering the Patriots have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabe Showen was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sven Dupree and Trace Hough did most of the damage at the plate: Dupree got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hough went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brayden Edwards was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Washington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Washington pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Berkeley Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-24.

Washington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
