Volleyball Recap: Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Central extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 3-0 to the Columbus Blue Devils. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Columbus, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

Columbus found their leader in sophomore Emma Cicora, who had 33 assists and four digs. Those 33 assists set a new season-high mark for Cicora. Another player making a difference was Layla Norrell, who had eight digs and one assist.

Looking ahead, Central will take on Beauregard at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, they will be taking part in a tournament against McIntosh at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
