Matthew Castillo put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Tuesday. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Rio Grande back in March of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Castillo also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Los Lunas is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Castillo and Los Lunas will venture away from home to square off against Albuquerque at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
