Basketball Recap: Lutheran Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Lutheran extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Kade Speckman. The Lutheran Lions enjoyed a cozy 76-62 victory over the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks on Thursday thanks in part to Speckman, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten boards. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Cayden Cooper and Alex Treglia certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cooper went 8 for 12 on his way to 24 points and five steals, while Treglia posted 21 points and seven rebounds. Cooper has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Larner, who earned five points.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cheyenne Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-59 victory against Palmer Ridge on the 22nd. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-45 win against Niwot on the 18th.
