Baseball Recap: Lakeland Christian Now 12-3 over Last 15 Games

Lakeland Christian got themselves on the board against George Jenkins on Monday, but George Jenkins never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Vikings have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lakeland Christian got a great performance from Carson Martin as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Parker Kant, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Blankenship, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Lakeland Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for George Jenkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

Coincidentally, Lakeland Christian and George Jenkins will both be playing Fort Meade the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
