Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Williamson). They blew past the LeFlore Rattlers 14-6 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kameron Sanks was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Todrick Withers, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Williamson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Williamson pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for LeFlore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamson will square off against Saraland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for LeFlore, they will take on Blount at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Blount will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something LeFlore surely won't give up without a fight.
