Newman Central Catholic is 7-2 against Mendota since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Mendota took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Newman Central Catholic, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Newman Central Catholic narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Morrison 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Newman Central Catholic who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Mendota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Somonauk.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16.

Mendota's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Newman Central Catholic, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.
