Basketball Recap: Bernards Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bernards entered their match against Jefferson Township on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bernards Mountaineers took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Township Falcons.

Jefferson Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kiley Shatzel led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madison Manco, who posted 11 points.

Bernards' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Jefferson Township, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Bernards has already played their next contest (against Belvidere), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jefferson Township will head out on the road to square off against North Warren Regional at 4:00 p.m. on February 11th.
