Softball Preview: Pascagoula Panthers vs. West Harrison Hurricanes

Pascagoula is 0-4 against West Harrison since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pascagoula Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Harrison Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m.

Pascagoula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Picayune by a score of 3-2.

Anneleese Rabon spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Keara Millender was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a run, and a double.

Even though they lost, Pascagoula didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Picayune only tossed six.

Meanwhile, West Harrison was able to grind out a solid win over Columbia on Monday, taking the game 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Harrison.

Jaylin Jones was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of KK Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Pascagoula's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for West Harrison, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
