Soccer Recap: North Smithfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Warwick on Thursday, North Smithfield came back down to earth. The Northmen lost 4-1 to the North Providence Cougars on Saturday. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly North Smithfield struggled afterwards.

Their goal came courtesy of Brynn Santos, who's now up to seven this season.

North Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-13-2. As for North Providence, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. North Smithfield will venture away from home to square off against Ponaganset at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Providence, they will head out to take on West Warwick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Providence are facing West Warwick at the right time seeing as West Warwick are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
