Soccer Game Preview: Mena vs. Magnolia

The Mena Bearcats will head out to challenge the Magnolia Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Mena came up short against Nashville and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Mena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Nashville are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Bauxite.

Magnolia now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Mena, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Mena beat Magnolia 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
