Basketball Game Preview: Del Valle Conquistadores vs. Americas Trail Blazers

Del Valle hasn't had much luck against Americas recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Del Valle Conquistadores will head out on the road to take on the Americas Trail Blazers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Del Valle came up short against El Dorado and fell 56-43.

Meanwhile, Americas had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They took down the Knights 58-42. Given the Trail Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Knights are ranked 889th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Del Valle better keep an eye on MATT MAGDALENO. He was instrumental in Americas' win, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds MAGDALENO has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of CHRISTIAN BACA, who posted 12 points.

Americas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They are 6-3 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Americas has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Del Valle, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Del Valle came up short against Americas in their previous matchup back in January, falling 47-42. Can Del Valle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
