Recap: Campbellsville Eagles vs. Edmonson County Wildcats
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Campbellsville Eagles were not quite the Edmonson County Wildcats's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Campbellsville fell 52-45 to Edmonson County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Campbellsville in their matchups with Edmonson County: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Campbellsville saw an underclassman step up: Keaton Hord scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Keondre Weathers, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Campbellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Edmonson County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Campbellsville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Metcalfe County at 7:15 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Metcalfe County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Edmonson County, they will head out on the road to face off against Breckinridge County at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
