Recap: Monacan Chiefs vs. Dinwiddie Generals

The Monacan Chiefs pushed their score all the way to 74 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Dinwiddie 78-74. Monacan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dinwiddie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tai Bowler, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Sims, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Speaking of assists, Monacan were working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Monacan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Dinwiddie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Monacan will head out on the road to challenge Richmond City School of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Monacan is coming into the matchup with five straight losses on the road, meaning Richmond City School of the Arts will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Dinwiddie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
