Baseball Recap: Dublin Has No Trouble Against Telfair County

Dublin lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Telfair County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Dublin Fighting Irish blew past the Telfair County Trojans 11-1 on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Ryland Yates was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Yates was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Dublin got a massive performance out of Bennett Lake, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Lake a new career-high in doubles. Will Wallace was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

Dublin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dublin now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Telfair County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

When Dublin and Telfair County next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dublin will face off against Washington County and their seven-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dublin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season. Meanwhile, Telfair County will try to stop Wilcox County's four-game winning streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
