Baseball Recap: Hopkins County Central Storm vs. Crittenden County Rockets
Hopkins County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Crittenden County Rockets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Storm have suffered against the Rockets since May 14, 2018.
Eli Earl was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Hopkins County Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neilan Bruce, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Andrew Knowles also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
