Softball Recap: Hamshire-Fannett Takes a Loss

Hamshire-Fannett was the 4-1 winner over Hargrave when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. Hamshire-Fannett fell just short of Hargrave by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hamshire-Fannett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Gallier, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Brooke Mayer was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hamshire-Fannett's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13-2. As for Hargrave, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9.

Coming up, Hamshire-Fannett will welcome Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Livingston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Hamshire-Fannett's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hargrave, they will challenge Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hargrave 3.1, Liberty 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
