Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Wendover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Estaban Correa, who went 8 for 12 en route to 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Correa is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Adryan Carlos was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Meanwhile, Yerington got the win against Oasis Academy on Saturday by a conclusive 55-35.
West Wendover better focus on containing Kenneth Picotte and Colby Rowe as the pair were huge in Yerington's win. Picotte dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Rowe dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Rowe a new career-high. Rowdy Smith also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.
Yerington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West Wendover pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Yerington, their record is now 10-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: West Wendover has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 boards per game. However, it's not like Yerington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
