Basketball Preview: Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds vs. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels
The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wolsey-Wessington will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Hill City scored an imposing 66 points on Saturday, Wolsey-Wessington still came out on top. Wolsey-Wessington sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-66 win over the Rangers.
It was another big night for Tate French, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Moshe Richmond was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket came up short against the Rustlers on Tuesday and fell 58-49. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket has not had much luck with the Rustlers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Wolsey-Wessington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
