After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cardinal Gibbons, Pompano Beach was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Fort Lauderdale Flying L 3-0. The Golden Tornadoes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flying L's, too.

Pompano Beach didn't let Fort Lauderdale take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 26-24.

Gabriel Souza paced Pompano Beach's offense, picking up 12 kills. Souza got some help from Sebastian Palacios and his 36 assists. Finally, Palacios was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Pompano Beach now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Fort Lauderdale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Pompano Beach will host St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:30 p.m. on the 17th. Fort Lauderdale has already played their next match (against Coral Glades), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
