Recap: Indian Valley Braves vs. Tuscarawas Valley Trojans
The Indian Valley Braves came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 54-44 win over Tuscarawas Valley. Given Indian Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Tuscarawas Valley is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tuscarawas Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being John Leffler, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Cole Kuykendall was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Indian Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Indian Valley will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hiland at 7:30 p.m. Indian Valley is coming into the game with seven straight wins at home, meaning Hiland will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Ridgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tuscarawas Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
