Baseball Recap: Millard Takes a Loss

Millard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Duchesne. If Millard was looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to Duchesne when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zach Higgins and Rayce Adams did some serious damage despite the final result: Higgins scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Adams scored a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, Adams posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Taylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Millard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Millard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Duchesne, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Millard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-3 loss against Delta on the 15th. As for Duchesne, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-0 defeat against Manti on the 15th.
