Softball Recap: Ticonderoga Starts Season with Win Against Hartford Central

Ticonderoga had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Hartford Central Tanagers with a sharp 17-3 victory on Tuesday.

Myleigh Drinkwine was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Moore, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jazlyn Disbrow was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ticonderoga will venture away from home to square off against Fort Ann at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Hartford Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Granville at 4:30 p.m. on the 11th.
