Basketball Recap: Stratford's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Stratford hadn't done well against Cypress Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Stratford Spartans came out on top against the Cypress Creek Cougars by a score of 55-44. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Cougars are ranked 317th).

The victory (which was Stratford's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Cypress Creek, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-8.

Stratford will welcome Northbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Creek, they will venture away from home to take on Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Cypress Creek likes a good challenge.
