Baseball Recap: Goshen Takes Down Westfield in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Goshen rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Westfield Shamrocks by a score of 5-2. The victory was nothing new for the RedHawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

Ryen Diaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braxton Cline was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Quinn Shreiner Landes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win got Goshen back to even at 13-13. As for Westfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-10 record.

As of now, neither Goshen nor the Shamrocks have any future games scheduled.
