Basketball Game Preview: Depew Wildcats vs. Alden Bulldogs

The Depew Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Alden Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Depew had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Salamanca put an end to it on Monday. Depew was dealt a 63-28 loss at the hands of Salamanca. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Alden came up short against East Aurora on Friday and fell 62-55.

Alden now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Depew, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Depew didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Alden when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Depew since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
