Basketball Recap: Monarch Starts off Right with Win over Borrego Springs

Monarch had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Borrego Springs Rams to the tune of 78-24. With the Royals ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Monarch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis McCarther led the charge by dropping a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Small, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards.

Coming up, Monarch will square off against Southern California Yeshiva at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Borrego Springs, they will take on West Shores at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
