Texline came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Gruver Greyhounds 42-23. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Texline is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Gruver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Texline and Gruver's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Texline and Canadian (who has only given up 26.85 points per game) will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
