Baseball Game Preview: Ponca City Wildcats vs. Jenks Trojans

For the second straight game, Ponca City will face off against Jenks. The Wildcats will challenge the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ponca City fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Jenks on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 1st.

Kalon Covey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Ponca City is 4-1 when Covey posts two or more runs, but 4-16 otherwise. Blake Orozco also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jenks' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13. As for Ponca City, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-17.
