Recap: Rich Rebels vs. Altamont Longhorns
The Rich Rebels had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past Altamont, posting a 59-24 win at home. Rich has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
Leading Rich to victory were Ridge Lundgren and Jaden Desch. Lundgren scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, while Desch dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Desch has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Cornia, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Rich's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Altamont, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Rich won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tabiona at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Rich knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Tabiona likes a good challenge. Altamont will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Manila at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th.
