Homestead is a perfect 10-0 against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will host the Cadets at 7:00 p.m. Homestead will be strutting in after a win while Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will be coming in after a loss.
Homestead took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Fort Wayne North Side get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Homestead can attribute much of their success to Shane Bardwell, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and Logan Frieden, who rushed for 94 yards and one score. Bardwell got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Homestead was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 69.2 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 191.3.

Homestead didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Kane Nancarrow and Anthony Fields Jr each grabbed an interception. Fields Jr has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Nick Brown was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of Fort Wayne South Side. The Cadets haven't had much luck with the Archers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Homestead pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Homestead against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
