Basketball Recap: Lakewood Lancers vs. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits
Lakewood lost against Long Beach Poly back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lakewood Lancers might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits an easy 63-42 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered against the Jackrabbits since April 28, 2021.
Defeat or not, Lakewood got some senior leadership from Anthony Williams and Keaton Lewis. Williams went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Lewis posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Willis, who put up six points.
Lakewood's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Long Beach Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
