Basketball Recap: Daleville Takes a Loss

Daleville lost against Frankton back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Daleville Broncos were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to the Frankton Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), the Broncos still had to take the loss.

Daleville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hunter Suchyna, who posted 26 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Sexton, who on his way to 15 points.

Frankton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joey Wright led the charge by to rack up 21 points and seven assists. Wright is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Trey Bennett was another key player, en route to 17 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Daleville and nudges their season record down to 5-13. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Frankton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Daleville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-39 defeat against Wapahani on the 21st. As for Frankton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-36 victory against Alexandria-Monroe on the 21st.
