Basketball Recap: Vernonia Takes a Loss

Vernonia lost against Portland Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vernonia Loggers had to suffer through a 95-39 loss at the hands of the Portland Christian Royals. While losing is never fun, the Loggers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Royals are ranked 26th).

Vernonia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Portland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season.

Vernonia will welcome Columbia Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Portland Christian, they will face off against Knappa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
