Evangel Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Bessemer Academy Rebels 13-3. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

ZAC GROSSMANN was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was RALEY CURTIS, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Evangel Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bessemer Academy only posted a batting average of .136.

Evangel Christian's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.2 runs. As for Bessemer Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Evangel Christian and Bessemer Academy will both be playing Coosa Valley Academy the next time they take the field. Evangel Christian will head out to face Coosa Valley Academy at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Bessemer Academy will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
